We (Mike and Vicki Simons) started Truck-Drivers-Money-Saving-Tips.com and utilize a number of communications efforts to share those tips because we know that "It's not just how much you earn that counts; it's also how much you keep!"

We provide real world tips that help professional truck drivers save hard-earned money and personal reporting about products and services for use on the road. In the United States alone, there are over 3.5 million professional truck drivers. So, the opportunities for saving money on the road abound.

Throughout our site, you'll learn more about us, including both our successes and mistakes. On every page of our website, you will see a section with this logo and wording:

Our passion to help truck drivers save money is the entire reason for our site. We're assuming that most of this email newsletter's readers are truckers themselves. Even if your goals are small to begin with, we'd like to show you how to multiply savings to keep more money in your pocket. We consider it an honor to serve you. We also include ideas on our site for those who serve as drivers' home support teams.

We realize that every professional driver's trucking experience is slightly different and that the needs of drivers across the industry vary greatly. So, we're looking to expand our website to provide information of help on lots of different topics, help that provides tangible value to you.

While we have written about us -- and what does and does not work for us in our truck -- you may have a different opinion. And that's ok! Please feel free to share with us whatever money saving tips have worked for you. Please use the form on the Contact Us page to ask questions, share whatever money saving tips have worked for you, or send feedback.

Perhaps you'll be the next person to send us a testimonial.

RSS News Feed Bloglet

In our RSS news feed this past month, we reported the following, which did not appear anywhere else on our site.

The Great American Smokeout - November 19, 2009

According to the American Cancer Society's website, today (Thursday, November 19, 2009) is the 34th "Great American Smokeout," a day on which they encourage "smokers to make a plan to quit, or to plan in advance and quit smoking that day." Quitting smoking is "taking an important step towards a healthier life - one that can lead to reducing cancer risk and creating more birthdays." They state, "Researchers say that quitting smoking can increase life expectancy - smokers who quit at age 35 gain an average of eight years of life expectancy; those who quit at age 55 gain about five years; and even long term smokers who quit at 65 gain three years." ACS also provides help for those who desire to quit smoking. From a cost savings perspective, think of all the money that smokers do or could spend: first, on the tobacco products themselves; second, on health care services required as a result of smoking. Do yourself a favor. If you don't smoke, don't start. If you do smoke, make the decision to quit, set a firm day to do so (today is a good day because you'll have plenty of company), destroy or throw away the tobacco products you currently have, and don't invest any more money into tobacco products. You'll be glad you did.

We mention this because we hope to grow the number of people who subscribe to our feed. You may subscribe via a link under the buttons in the left-hand column of any page of our website.
