Prevent This!According to an August 11, 2016 article, "a truck driver from Apison in Hamilton County, Tennessee is facing charges after causing a wreck". When we read statements like this, we always want to know the cause. The trucker's "9-year-old daughter was with him in the vehicle" at the time of the crash and photos of the wreckage show the girl's toys. Quoting the article,
No one should ever get behind the wheel of a vehicle -- especially a commercial motor vehicle -- to drive after drinking alcohol. Alcohol must have time to pass through the body so that that the "blood alcohol content" (or "blood alcohol concentration") is below the legal limit in the country where you're driving. (In the United States, "It is illegal to have any measurable alcohol in the blood while driving".) Neither the trucker nor the child were injured as a result of this crash, but "it could have been a tragedy". Nevertheless, numerous costs were involved (and may be ongoing), including:
