Important Notice

  • Write and Submit Comments on Trucking Topics

For the first time ever, Vicki Simons prepared and submitted comments to the FMCSA about a trucking topic this week.

As she mentioned in one issue of TDMST Weekly Round-Up, the opportunity to submit comments on that topic has expired.

However, there are other opportunities to submit comments to the FMCSA on trucking topics.

Please let your voice be heard on matters that affect you and your paycheck.

Truckers are the ones whose paychecks are most affected by trucking regulations.

If enough truckers submit comments, then the likelihood of those comments affecting legislation and regulations increase.

Earn More, Save More

An October 2, 2018, article addressed how an oversized load caused a 17-hour shutdown of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel.

Even though the company that employed the trucker supposedly set up a toll relief fund for those "inconvenienced by the incident", we have yet to hear if any truckers have actually received compensation.

But beyond that, even if the "toll" that was paid was relieved, will truckers who were stuck in traffic be compensated for their time?

Seventeen hours is much longer than a full eleven hours' worth of driving. (So much for making a pick-up or delivery on-time!)

Both Mike and Vicki understand being delayed by circumstances beyond their control in trucking -- and not being properly compensated.

We know of only one way to take the edge off that kind of situation: earn a second income as a trucker.
