Pay attention to winter weather advisories, reports of icy roads, and even road closures due to blizzard-like or whiteout conditions. While there may be some weather conditions that professional truck drivers are willing to brave, other conditions render driving downright unsafe or even impossible. Even if your truck is outfitted with snow chains, no load is worth your life! Even if roads are "passable," remember that it is the truck driver's call on whether or not it is safe to drive and that the STAA is on your side in case you refuse to drive when it is unsafe. To all of our readers who are professional truck drivers, we wish you safe travels and lots of money saving opportunities on the road! We also wish you a safe and blessed Thanksgiving.
