Important Notice

  • Holiday Season Travel and Food

When we drove aa a husband and wife professional truck driving team on a coast-to-coast irregular route, we had a Thanksgiving trip over the road in a big truck three times.

So, we understand what is required when driving a big truck during the holiday season.

Please stay alert regarding travelers who aren't concentrating on driving and to prevailing weather conditions.

Out of appreciation for the valuable service that truckers render, some truck stops may offer a free Thanksgiving meal to active CDL holders.

If you can't catch a free meal, you may wish to read how we prepared our in-truck Thanksgiving dinner one year and how truckers can save money year-round by eating as much food as possible in-truck through careful meal preparation.

Also, Vicki wrote A Thanksgiving Prayer on Behalf of Professional Truck Drivers some time back and shares it again this year.

  • Requesting Photos and Descriptions for a Video

In one Facebook group earlier this month, Vicki requested photos of trucks and freight -- with descriptions -- for the purpose of making a video that shows how everyone is dependent upon and should be profoundly grateful to truckers.

We need to have those by the end of December 2018, so if you're willing to help out, please contact us.

    Thanks in advance.

Earn More, Save More

A November 8, 2018, article reported: "Massive traffic delays [miles-long traffic backups] have been reported in Boston after a truck's load slammed into the ceiling of the O’Neill Tunnel during the morning rush hour."

If you were taking a timed load through that area at that time, you were inconvenienced and we empathize with you.

We know of only one way that truckers can take the edge off that kind of situation: earn a second income.

Learn more and get free access to our Second Income for Truckers Video Mini-Course now at SecondIncomeForTruckers.com.

Pay attention to winter weather advisories, reports of icy roads, and even road closures due to blizzard-like or whiteout conditions.

While there may be some weather conditions that professional truck drivers are willing to brave, other conditions render driving downright unsafe or even impossible.

Even if your truck is outfitted with snow chains, no load is worth your life!

Even if roads are "passable," remember that it is the truck driver's call on whether or not it is safe to drive and that the STAA is on your side in case you refuse to drive when it is unsafe.

To all of our readers who are professional truck drivers, we wish you safe travels and lots of money saving opportunities on the road!

We also wish you a safe and blessed Thanksgiving.

Best regards,
Mike and Vicki Simons, Owners
