When a semi hauling a flatbed loaded with lumber crashed into standstill traffic on I-70 west of Denver, it

• caused a 28-vehicle pileup,
• killed 4 people, and
• resulted in the road being "closed for nearly 24 hours" before it was completely reopened.

We extend our condolences to the families of those who died in the crash.

Although not to the extent of this accident, truck accidents happen often.

What would happen if you were injured or experienced vehicle damage requiring a lot of truck repair as a result of someone else's actions on the road?

We encourage truckers to learn more about earning a second income as a trucker.

Before the end of the month, many Americans will celebrate Memorial Day, the traditional start of summer vacation season.

Many vacationers will have their minds on fun and not on driving.

Some may be driving vehicles much larger than those they normally drive.

While you should always drive defensively, please be alert to drivers and haulers of recreational vehicles and those transporting boats.

If you have an appointment on Monday, May 27 (Memorial Day), you may want to double-check your appointment.

And if your company pays holiday pay over the Memorial Day weekend -- and if you intend to earn it -- make sure you know all of the terms involved..
