Being shut down and forced to wait to drive -- whether due to bad weather or an accident -- is no fun.
There have been at least two major snowstorms on the east coast within the last month or so -- one in Virginia and one in Kentucky -- and there have been other weather-related problems in the Northwest.
If you're being paid by the mile and you can't drive for one reason or another, your paycheck and earning potential is basically squashed.
