This year, electronic and paper forms are both on track and on time, but there is one tricky thing to keep track of. How you file (on paper or electronic) will affect your due date:

Electronic (also known as e-filed) forms and taxes will be due Tuesday September 3rd, 2013.
Paper forms and taxes must be postmarked Saturday August 31st, 2013.

The 2013/2014 forms won’t be accepted by the IRS until they open some time in early July, usually the first week. You are welcome to submit them early and 2290Tax will hold them for you. They will send your forms to the IRS the moment the IRS begins accepting them.

IRS Closures and Shut Downs

Don’t forget, the IRS will be closed on several days during the tax period.

Thursday July 4 – Friday July 5, 2013
Monday July 22 – Tuesday July 23, 2013
Friday August 30 – Monday September 2, 2013

If you submit on these days it will take longer then normal to get your Stamped Schedule 1. We recommend you e-file no later then Monday August 26th, just to be sure these IRS Closures don’t bother you.
