This “Fuel Island Review Pilot Maryland Hagerstown” is a review of the fuel island at the Pilot Travel Center in Hagerstown, MD, USA.
This review is being conducted based upon our own expectations of what a fuel island that caters to professional truck drivers of commercial motor vehicles should be like. Mike’s driver manager at his trucking company has said that the company wants feedback from their drivers regarding their fuel solutions (locations where they are assigned to get fuel). If the drivers have a bad experience, they are to report that and if the company receives enough bad reports about a particular fueling location, the company will look for alternatives. In this way, there is an economic incentive for truck stops to provide what drivers need and want when they arrive at a fueling location.

Observations: “Fuel Island Review Pilot Maryland Hagerstown”
The truck entrance into this facility can be a little tricky if you haven’t been here before, but it is well marked.
There is more than sufficient room to pull into and out of the bays.
The pump handle lock (to lock the pump in the “on” position) was either broken or missing from the “satellite” pump that Mike used. This meant that Mike had to manually dispense diesel on the passenger side of his truck, a maneuver that he wished had been automatic. This lengthened the amount of time that he spent in the fuel bay, when he could have been washing his truck’s windshield, checking the oil and thumping tires. This is the explanation behind the “3” given for that category above.
