Shower #5 (equipped for the handicapped)
Pros: Shower Review Loves Tennessee Charleston
- One towel was waiting for us in the shower; we requested and received two more for the two of us
- The lady who escorted us back to the shower was Anita, the Marketing Manager
- Shower was clean upon arrival
- Counter space at sink was more than adequate to meet our needs
- Fan worked well
- Mirror was well positioned on wall behind sink for both short and tall drivers
- Light was directly above the mirror, so that male drivers could get a close shave without nicking
- Water pressure from sink was good
- Electrical outlets worked well
- Water pressure in shower was good
- There were two water delivery mechanisms in the shower, a standard showerhead and a bathtub-like spout down lower
- The top showerhead could be positioned as needed
- Showerhead delivered water in a good spray (like a home showerhead)
- Shower was designed as a large opening covered by a shower curtain
- Shower “stall” had handrails for the handicapped
- Shower curtain prevented shower spray from splattering on floor outside stall; also there were suction cup sections on the edges of the curtain to affix it to the stall walls to keep more water in the stall
- Towels were sufficiently absorbent
- Washcloths were thicker than the towels
- Toilet flushed well
- An air vent to pull moisture out of the room was near the shower stall. We never experienced fogging of the mirror.
- This shower was large, well lit and pleasant
- Shower water pressure and temperature remained constant even when toilet was flushed
Cons: Shower Review Loves Tennessee Charleston
- The door had neither a deadbolt lock nor a door restrictor
- Towel hooks were on the wall behind the outside door, well away from the shower stall
- Movable chair was not wide enough to handle an oversized shower bag
- Although the shower curtain had 12 holes for rings, there were only 7 rings holding it onto the rod
- The water coming from the bathtub-like spout could not be directed onto the user like it can when using a hand-held hose
Note: Shower Review Loves Tennessee Charleston
About the time that we showered, the facility’s dryer went out. This did not affect our ability to get a shower or have dry towels with which to dry off.
