TDMST Weekly Round-Up

1. Regarding CDLs, DHS, DOT, ICE, illegal, language, and training:

This entire section has to do with people who have Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDLs) without proper authorization — and the regulations regarding that.

DAT TruckersEdge - Most Loads. Best Rates. Serving Owner-Operators Since 1978. 10% off your first 12 months. New customers only.

Among those unauthorized to have CDLs in the USA are those who do not have English language proficiency.

5. Regarding autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles, fuel, and fuel economy:

Autonomous vehicles

I wholeheartedly oppose the operation of self-driving, autonomous, or driverless commercial motor vehicles on the same roads as the motoring public — but I share articles on this topic with our readers to help us stay current on the topic.

Electric vehicles

Before you buy an all-electric Commercial Motor Vehicle, please do your due diligence by asking some questions and getting answers.

6. Regarding containers, inspections, and parking:

Inspections

If you keep yourself and your rig in perpetual readiness for an inspection, you’ll never be caught off-guard.

7. Regarding crashes, death, drugs, fatalities, fraud, smuggling, tax evasion, and theft:

Crashes

Please look through these articles to see if there is anything you can learn to help you prevent being involved in a similar crash.

Death

I express my deep sympathy — and offer my condolences — to the families of those whose loved ones died as described.

Drugs

Never ever haul or take illegal drugs.

Fatalities

I express my deep sympathy — and offer my condolences — to the families of those whose loved ones died in these crashes.

Can you learn anything from the articles below that would help prevent being involved in a fatal large truck crash?

Fraud

Never attempt to deceive, misrepresent something, intentionally pervert the truth, or pretend to be someone else for the purpose of trying to get something valuable.

Smuggling

Never ever transport people made in the image of God as if they were cattle or cargo — no matter how large of an incentive you’ve been offered.

Tax evasion

According to one source:

The core difference between tax avoidance and tax evasion is that tax avoidance is legal, while tax evasion is illegal and a criminal offense.

Tax avoidance involves using legal strategies within the tax code to reduce the amount of tax owed, often referred to as sound tax planning. Tax evasion, in contrast, involves illegal and fraudulent activities to deliberately underpay or not pay taxes at all.

Now for the article…

Theft

Never take something that doesn’t belong to you unless you have permission from the owner.

With as much surveillance equipment as is in place in the 21st century, it’s only a matter of time before the thieves are apprehended.

8. Regarding ELDs, EU, HOS, registration, and regulations:

12. Regarding awards, recognition, and skill:

Awards

Congratulations to the professional truck driver who was issued an award!

Recognition

This section regards “highway heroes” who helped their fellow human beings in a time of need.

Thank you!

Skill

I’ve never before seen a video of a trucker who was able to “undo” a jackknife that he/she had been in.

I applaud the trucker in the video who used his/her skill to maneuver out of a difficult, slick situation.

I wish you — and all professional truck drivers — safe travels and lots of money saving opportunities on the road.
