There is an area for diners just inside the restaurant (usually populated by professional truck drivers) and plenty of seating in the back past the buffet.
A buffet is featured daily with various items.
Diners may order from the menu.
This is a no smoking facility

On this day, we ate breakfast at this restaurant.

Since we usually eat breakfast in our truck, we considered this to be a treat.

Pros: Restaurant Review Petro Pennsylvania Scranton

There was plenty of just about everything on the bar when we came through.
There were three areas on the bar: a salad and fruit cold bar, a soup and dessert bar, and a hot bar with breakfast foods. Off to one side, there was also a dispenser with various cold cereals.
The hot bar featured scrambled eggs, skillet potatoes, sausage links, bacon, grits, oatmeal, sautéed bell peppers, cheese sauce, French toast, pancakes, biscuits and sausage gravy. Ham was available on the carving bar.
The salad bar carried numerous common items including iceberg lettuce, cucumber slices, grape tomatoes, onions, cottage cheese; a cold mayo-based tuna salad; fruits including canned peaches, pineapple, a fruit medley, a mix of cantaloupe and honeydew chunks; chocolate and vanilla puddings; gelatin; and various salad toppings and dressings. There were also whole Valencia oranges and red delicious apples.
Two varieties of soup were available: steak and potato and Manhattan clam chowder.
Among the desserts were blueberry scones, chocolate cookies with cherries and a touch of almond extract (yum!), snickerdoodles, and fruit pastry.
Our waitress, Debbie, was friendly and arrived at our table right away, as soon as we got seated.
Mike said that the coffee was excellent! He could tell that it was fresh and had a good taste to it. Debbie brought a full cup of coffee plus a carafe full of more. This variety was 100% Arabica premium roast coffee.
Mike liked using the free-flow sugar dispenser on the table. He has never really liked having to open little sugar packets.
Mike liked the fact that the sausage gravy actually had chunks of sausage in it — and plenty of it.

Cons: Restaurant Review Petro Pennsylvania Scranton

There was one tiny crumb on the table when we arrived.
The amount of ham carved and ready for pick-up by diners was insufficient in our opinion.
The corn beef hash on the hot bar looked like it was overcooked.
If you wanted milk with your cold cereal, you had to ask for it even though it is included in the cost of the buffet.
It seemed a tad warm in the restaurant to us.
We did not like the selection of music being played and were glad that we were not seated under a speaker.
Mike had to ask for extra napkins.
