TDMST Weekly Round-Up

1. Regarding CARB, emissions, and near-zero:

Please be discerning regarding the issue of emissions and so-called “climate change.”

2. Regarding economy, fines, inflation, pay, retirement, and taxes:

Economy

Fines

The article just below references Canada.

Quote from article:

Pre-set Hours-of-Service fines are grouped into minor, moderate, and severe categories. Minor infractions include fines of up to $600, while severe infractions include fines as high as $2,000.

Inflation

When some figures are for short periods of time — to try to keep the people ignorant of the long-term effects of inflation — you need to understand that as of this writing, the buying power of $1.00 in the United States is $0.03 compared to what it was in 1913, when the unconstitutional Federal Reserve Act was passed into law.

Pay

Retirement

Quote from article:

While 37% of survey respondents said they want to keep driving because they like their jobs, almost an equal amount – 34% – said they had to keep driving because they need the money.

Taxes

3. Regarding autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles, fuel, oil, and Run on Less:

Autonomous vehicles

I most definitely oppose the operation of any self-driving, driverless, or autonomous commercial motor vehicles on the same roads as the motoring public, but share these articles to help you stay informed on the topic.

Electric vehicles

Before you buy an electric commercial motor vehicle, please do your due diligence.

Fuel

4. Regarding drugs, fraud, smuggling, and theft:

Drugs

Never ever haul illegal drugs, no matter how large of an incentive you’re offered.

Fraud

Smuggling

No matter how much you are offered, never ever haul people — who are made in the image of God — like they were cargo or cattle!

Theft

5. Regarding inspections, safety, speed, and speed limiters:

Inspections

If you keep yourself and your rig in perpetual readiness for an inspection, you’ll never be caught off-guard.

Speed

Speed limiters

6. Regarding crashes and fatalities:

Crashes

Please scan through these articles to see what led up to each crash, so that you can do everything reasonable to avoid being caught in the same situation.

Fatalities

We express our deep sympathy — and offer our condolences — to the families of those whose loved ones died in these crashes.

7. Regarding events, parking, shortage: drivers, and trucking industry:

10. Regarding roads, towing, and weather:

Roads

Towing

Weather

If you’re a trucker in the USA, watch out during these “dog days of summer” for potentially scorching hot temperatures — when it comes to:

  • your own body,
  • any authorized passenger(s) you may have in your truck,
  • any pet(s) you may have aboard, and
  • your truck.

11. Regarding technology and video:

Technology

Video

OK, I feel compelled to share about some of these videos…

No information was shared about how heavy these rigs were going up the hill!

Thank God that this trucker was alert!

In my opinion, this video ended too soon.

I would have liked to have seen if the trucker was able to open the truck door, jump in, and stop his truck in time to avoid an accident.

Please remember to set your truck’s parking brakes before you get out!

This situation was downright ridiculous and I feel compelled to ask these questions (as a starting point):

  • How could the trucker have possibly seen the road through that much water?
  • How much damage was this trucker doing to his/her truck engine and other electronic components?
  • How much damage was done to other parts of the trucker’s rig?

There is no excuse for what this trucker did.

I hope that this trucker’s company sees this video and disciplines him for his road rage.

In my opinion, this video ended too soon to see what happened.

This was downright frightening and could have ended very badly for the trucker whose truck was struck.

What is shown in this video is a very real reminder of how critical pre-trip inspections are.

We make available a Pre-Trip Inspection Combo through our Free Downloads page.

Also, look at our page “Reviews of Lug Nut Torque Indicators by Truck Drivers” for information about “wheel off” and “wheel separation” situations.

Finally, I will not be surprised if somewhere down the road, the trucker whose truck lost the wheel is found and he/she and/or his/her trucking company will be held financially responsible for the damage that the lost wheel caused.

12. Regarding awards, recognition, and skill:

Awards

Congratulations to all truckers who demonstrated skill on the job!

Recognition

We recognize those truckers who helped their fellow human beings in a time of need.

Skill

We recognize this trucker:

My husband Mike and I wish you — and all professional truck drivers — safe travels and lots of money saving opportunities on the road.
